From Sept. 20 to 30 the Allenhurst Police Department reported the following incidents:
SEPT. 20
• Officers arrested a 24-year-old Brick Township woman and a 24-year-old Long Branch man during the course of a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle was originally stopped because the vehicle registration was expired. The female passenger was arrested after giving oficers a false name and date of birth to hide the fact that she was wanted out of Monmouth County. She was found to have four criminal warrants and one traffic warrant from various Monmouth and Middlesex County municipal courts. The male driver was also arrested for giving officers a fake name for the passenger. He was additionally charged for having possession of the vehicle without permission after police contacted the vehicle’s owner, who stated that the driver did not have his permission to have the vehicle that night. The female passenger was issued an Allenhurst criminal complaint for hindering her own apprehension and was turned over to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department. The male driver was issued three Allenhurst criminal complaints for hindering the apprehension of another, unlawful taking by means of conveyance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued traffic summonses for unregistered vehicle and driving without a license. He was talking to the Monmouth county Jail, in default of bail. The vehicle was temporarily impounded but was later returned to the registered owner. Patrolman Scott Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Special Officer Anthony Carafa.
SEPT. 21
• A fire was reported at the Allenhurst Beach Club restaurant. The fire was found to have started under an outside deck area and was caused by an improperly discarded cigarette. The fire was contained by Allenhurst police officers and the Allenhurst Fire Department’s quick response. The damage under the deck area was not structural and the interior of the restaurant was not compromised in any way. One firefighter suffered a head injury during the incident, and he was treated and released at a local hospital.
SEPT. 27
• Officers arrested a 25-year-old Asbury Park woman after stopping her vehicle. She was found to have a traffic warrant for her arrest out of Asbury Park. She was processed and released after posting cash bail. There were no Allenhurst charges filed. SO Carafa was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl. Rapolla.
SEPT. 30
• Police charged a 21-year-old West Allenhurst woman with obstruction of administration of the law and disorderly conduct after an incident. Both the driver and passenger fled on foot from their vehicle. Ptl. Eustace was the arresting officer and he received assistance from Deal Police Department officers. The vehicle was impounded pending further investigation into the incident. Further charges and suspects are likely in this case.
• A 36-year-old Highlands man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Deal. He was taken into custody without incident, processed, and released after posting cash bail. There were no local charges filed. Ptl. Rapolla was the arresting officer.
• From Sept. 20 to 30 the Allenhurst Police arrested three other individuals on various contempt of court warrants.
