Below is the Allenhurst police blotter from Sept. 21 through Oct. 4. The information is published unedited from the Allenhurst Police Department:
SEPT. 22
After stopping an 18-year old Long Branch woman, she was subsequently arrested when she was
found to have criminal warrants, out of Ocean Twp., Eatontown, and Long Branch. She was taken
into custody without incident. She was turned over to Ocean Township officers and transported to the
County Jail. Ptl Scott Rapolla was the arresting officer.
Police took a report of a stolen bicycle that was reported as locked at the train station on Friday
morning and reported missing late Sunday night. The matter is still under investigation as the victim
is obtaining more information on the bicycle involved. Ptl Marc Eustace is the investigating officer.
SEPT. 23
After stopping a 38-year old Long Branch man for equipment violations, he was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident, processed, and released to a responsible/sober adult. He was issued Allenhurst traffic summonses for DWI, reckless driving, maintenance of lamps, and failure to notify DMV of an address change. His vehicle was also impounded. Ptl Eustace was the arresting officer.
After stopping a 26-year old Long Branch man for a motor vehicle violation, the subject was arrested
for driving while unlicensed. The subject was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving an
unregistered vehicle and driving without a license. Capt Schneider was the arresting officer.
Officers responded to the beach front for a subject who was unresponsive. He was found to have
passed away. Police are not handling this as a suspicious death at this time. Police were assisted by
the MONOC paramedics and the Monmouth County Medical Examiners Office. Capt. Schneider was
the investigating officer and was assisted by Chief Richter and Ptl Rapolla.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Elberon Avenue. It was found to have
been a verbal dispute between two parties. The matter was handled on scene by the responding
officer and no charges were filed against either party. Ptl Rapolla was the responding officer.
SEPT. 24
After stopping a 35-year old Asbury Park man for a motor vehicle violation, police subsequently
placed him under arrest, when he was found to be driving without insurance. He was released on
traffic summonses for driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving while uninsured,
pending a court date. His vehicle was also impounded. Ptl Rapolla was the arresting officer.
SEPT. 25
Police stopped a 42-year old Long Branch man for using a handheld cell phone while driving and
subsequently placed him under arrest for an active warrant he had, out of Long Branch. He was
issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while using a cell phone and driving while suspended.
He was able to post cash bail on the warrant, was processed and released with a court date in
Allenhurst. Ptl Eustace was the arresting officer and was assisted by Chief Richter.
SEPT. 27
Officers responded to a Main Street apartment, after hearing a domestic disturbance. It was
determined to be a loud verbal argument only, with no physical contact, and both parties were
advised that if officers returned, charges would be filed. Ptl Dave Lipari was the investigating officer
and was assisted by Ptl Wray Burritt.
SEPT. 28
Police responded to a Spier Avenue for a report of a loud music and noise. Officers spoke with the
tenants at the house and advised them of the complaint and that the noise/music level needed to be
lowered. While on location, officers found malicious mischief, that had been done to one of the
vehicles in the area. The owner of the vehicle, who was an attendee at the party, was advised of the
officers findings. Officers responded to this same location two hours later, for two more complaints of
noise. No complaints were signed, but the tenants were advised that any future calls at this residence
would result in the tenants being charged with maintaining a nuisance. Ptl Lipari and Ptl Burritt were
the responding officers.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a fight starting at the same location as the earlier party.
Officers responded and found the disturbance was over the earlier reported vehicle damage. Officers
got consent to search one of the vehicles, due to a comment made about a possible gun, and nothing was
found. A baseball bat was found in the area of the party, and since no one claimed ownership of the
bat, the officers took possession of it. The subjects were all cleared from the scene. Ptl Lipari and Ptl
Burritt responded, with Deal PD sending backup as well.
SEPT. 29
Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in town. There were no criminal violations
that were reported and both parties were instructed how to properly settle their issues through civil
means. Officers cleared the scene after one of the parties left the residence for the time being. Ptl
DiBona was the investigating officer.
Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash, involving 3 vehicles, at the intersection of
Cedar and Ocean Avenues. The Allenhurst First Aid Squad also responded and transported 1 subject
to a local hospital with neck injuries. The Allenhurst Fire Department also responded for smoke
coming from one of the vehicles after the crash. The driver of 1 of the vehicles was issued a
summons for careless driving. The investigating officer was Ptl DiBona and he was assisted by Sgt
Jim Rogers.
OCT. 2
After stopping a 23-year old Blackwood, NJ, woman on a motor vehicle stop, she was subsequently
arrested on a traffic warrant, out of Woodbridge. She was processed and released after posting cash
bail. She was not issued any summonses in Allenhurst. Ptl DiBona was the arresting officer and was
assisted by Ptl Lipari.
Police responded to a report of a structure fire, with possible entrapment, at an Ocean A venue
residence. On their arrival, officers were told there was still fire showing and the resident went back
into the house to attempt to put out the fire. Officers were able to get the resident out of the house,
and temporarily put out the flames, until the Allenhurst & Deal Fire Departments responded. Deal
Police responded also and assisted Allenhurst officers with traffic control. Responding officers
included Ptl DiBona, Capt Schneider, and Det Lipari. The fire was investigated by Det Lipari, and the
Allenhurst Fire Official, and was found to have been caused by improper disposal of smoking
materials. The homeowner was treated on scene, for a minor laceration to his arm, by the Allenhurst
First Aid Squad.
OCT. 3
Officers responded to a Hume street residence, after being requested for assistance. While on
location, officers determined it was a civil matter between a landlord and a prior tenant. The landlord
was advised of his civil remedies to settle the matter. Ptl DiBona was the responding officer.
Police arrested a 51-year old Bradley Beach man, when he appeared in Allenhurst court and was
found to have a warrant for his arrest, out of Allenhurst. He was processed, posted bail and allowed to
return to court. Ptl Eustace was the arresting officer.
OCT. 4
Police are investigating a malicious mischief incident that occurred in the area of the Allenhurst
Beach Club. The matter remains as an active investigation and is being handled by Det Lipari.
During the time period of Sept. 7 – Oct. 4, Police arrested five other individuals on various
contempt of court warrants. Of these arrested, one was committed to the Monmouth County Jail.
