Anonymous Tip Led To Weekend Burglar Arrest
Asbury Park man charged in spate of Sunday burglaries in Wanamassa
Ocean Township Police have charged a 48-year-old Asbury Park man in connection with a spate of burglaries that occurred over the weekend in the Wanamassa section, according to a news release.
Neidel Pacheco III was charged with three counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief, officials said.
The arrest was based on footage police officers obtained after canvassing the various burglarized homes in Colonial Terrace. A person of interest call to the public showing images of the surveillance video led to an anonymous tip. Officials said stolen items were recovered.
Pacheco was taken into custody near 4:56 p.m. Tuesday in Asbury Park without incident. He was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, where he’ll remain until an initial court appearance.
Detectives Gregory Martone and Jesse Orbach led the investigation.
