The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce announced this week Sylvia Sylvia-Cioffi of Ocean Township has been named its new Executive Director.
In news release, outgoing Director, Jackie Pappas, shared her “excitement in having found a wonderfully experienced, passionate and energetic longtime fan of Asbury Park to fill the roll.”
Sylvia-Cioffi [shown at right] has served on the Ocean Township Board of Education since 2010 and is also the Outreach Coordinator for Ocean Township’s Human Services Department.
“Sylvia’s experience working with municipal government, local nonprofits and the Board of Education will serve her well as she continues the Chamber’s mission to connect businesses, tourism, our youth and the community,” Pappas said.
Chamber President, Roy Werts, described Sylvia as a “great addition to a strong team.”
He also thanked Pappas for all that has been accomplished under her leadership of the Chamber and Assistant Matt Whelan for his efforts in assisting with the transition.
Pappas was also honored for her work by the Asbury Park City Council, receiving an official proclamation during its regular session meeting.
Pappas has said she will remain until after the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce’s annual Oysterfest event in mid September.
