APPD Investigation leads to drug and stolen item arrest
Citizen complaints led to 45-year-old man's arrest Friday
An investigation launched as a result of citizen complaints resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old resident, according to a written news release issued by Asbury Park Police Department Spokesman Ptl. Michael Casey.
Quaddeer Omar Fitzpatrick was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession of with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing complex, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Oxycodone), two counts of possession of firearms [handguns] while committing a drug offense, two counts of being a certain person not to possess a weapon, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and receiving stolen property.
Casey said members of the Asbury Park Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit worked in assistance with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
A warrant was executed on Feb. 17 at Unit 31 of the Frederick Douglas Apartment Complex, located at 172 Prospect Avenue.
Items located and seized included a 357 Magnum revolver and a 357 Ruger Revolver; numerous rounds of ammunition for the handguns; the suspected crack cocaine, Oxycodone, and marijuana; drug paraphernalia included a digital weighing scale and packaging material for the suspected drugs. Stolen proceeds seized included various types of USB thumb drives; two black and silver colored external hard drives; multiple cell phones; a Chronoswiss Grand Regulator watch; an Aspen LED smart projector and screen; and Apple I-Mac computer; as well as a metal and wood carving made in the likeness of Bruce Springsteen and $380 in cash.
Fitzpatrick was released on the summonses, pending a future court appearance.
