APPD Street Crimes Unit & Detectives Arrest Two For Drug Distribution
Charges include crack cocaine possession & distribution near a school & public housing
Two city residents face crack cocaine possession with the intent to distribute charges following a joint investigation by the Asbury Park Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and its Detective Bureau, the Asbury Park Police Department announced Tuesday.
Dowann Andrade, 46, and Lou Jean Brown, 59 are charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession with the intent to distribute with 500 feet of public housing, and possession of drug paraphernalia, officials said.
The arrests followed the execution of a search warrant at close to 6 p.m. Friday at a Springwood Avenue home, officials said. Along with drugs and paraphernalia, police officials seized $696 in proceeds from narcotic transactions, a department spokesman said.
Andrade was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending a future court date and Jean Brown was released on a summons.
