“Art Block Party” on Cookman celebrates local businesses
Festivities follow 'Jersey Shore At Anytime' ribbon cutting ceremony
To celebrate their recent partnership and new Asbury Park offices, Jersey Shore At Anytime, Gold Mobile and Marshall, Jackson & Partners are celebrating with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an “Art Block Party” Thursday, June 12, from 4:30 to 9 p.m, according to a release from event organizers.
The event will feature food, fun and live entertainment from over 50 local merchants gathered on the 700 block of Cookman Avenue. The block, located between Main and Bond streets, serves as the gateway from Main Street to downtown Cookman Avenue.
Vendors include Shop the Runway, Silver Ball Museum, Langosta Lounge, and iPlay America. Students from the Lakehouse Music Academy will perform live on stage at the block party.
Visitors can expect an exciting evening of shopping and sampling as they stroll down the “Art Block” of downtown Asbury Park. The block gets its name from housing several art galleries, which include Parlor Gallery, Heaven & Art Antiques, and Kiss My Art gallery, along with the city’s only independent art house cinema, The ShowRoom.
The Art Block Party is being organized by Jersey Shore At Anytime, an online marketplace designed to promote small and local businesses, in conjunction with the Asbury Park Historical Society’s Musical Heritage Foundation, which has a performance and exhibition space on the block, and AP Vibe, a marketing campaign that seeks to promote Downtown Asbury Park as a shopping and dining destination.
Jersey Shore At Anytime seeks to draw consumers out of the mall and back to Main Street through strengthening local ties to bring area merchants and consumers together, according to their website.
The rain date for the event is the following Thurdsay, June 19th.
