The ever-growing Asbury Agile returns next month.

The daylong event has become the area’s largest conference of it’s kind, aimed at bringing  entrepreneurs, startups, technology professionals, and students together under one umbrella.

Asbury Agile is less about agile methodology and more about being an agile, well rounded, nimble professional, organizers said. Topics range across disciplines and the intimate format allows for open and informal discussions.

The program is administered by Cowerks, the city’s tech and entrepreneurial hub that offers flex space at its Lake Avenue and Main Street locations.

“We’re excited to bring such a talented and diverse group of speakers to Asbury Park,” Cowerks founder and event organizer Bret Morgan has said. “Community has always been at the heart of everything we’ve been building at Cowerks. Asbury Agile is our chance to show off the vibrant technology and startup community emerging right here under our noses to our friends in New York, Philly, and other parts of New Jersey.”

This year’s speakers includes entrepreneurs, product designers, and engineers from Amazon, Major League Soccer, Nasdaq, Capital One, iCIMS, Digital Ocean, and Iris VR.

They are:

Iheanyi Ekechukwu, Software Engineer at DigitalOcean

Sarah Goelitz, UX Content Strategist at Capital One

Tyler Hopf, Creative Director at IrisVR

Mackenzie Kosut, Global Startup Evangelist at AWS, Amazon

Adekunle Oduye, Product Designer at JustWorks

Peggy Rayzis, Software Engineer at Major League Soccer

The seventh annual event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct 6 at The Asbury, located at 210 Fifth Avenue. A light breakfast offering, lunch and an Asbury Agile 2017 t-shirt are included.

Cowerks also hosts an array of workshops and networking events. They include:

8 a.m. Friday Coffee, Business Networking, & Coworking, at Kitch Organic, located on the ground floor of Lakehouse, 619 Lake Avenue. Attendees can stay and work at Cowerks [on the third floor] for the day at a discounted rate of $10.

Pitch Ready – Crafting & Refining Your Pitch Deck for Investors is a three session interactive workshop running from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct 12, 19, and 26. A panel of industry professionals will select one presentation to win a service prize pack from CPA Firm Withum Smith+Brown and Cowerks valued at $2,800.
