Asbury boardwalk pavilions appear structurally intact
But heavy internal damage is observed
Boardwalk pavilions today appeared structurally intact, but heavy internal damage was visually observed in several.
Sources on the scene said that structural assessments will next be made, after which repair crews can be sent in to rehabilitate the buildings. Electrical systems in the buildings may have suffered heavy damage, according to a source on the scene.
Pop’s Garage appeared to take a heavy hit, while Langosta Lounge next door — at least from the outside — did not seem to suffer as much damage. Stella Marina seemed to have significant damage inside.
Crews were on the scene securing the exteriors of the sites. The boardwalk did appear torn up in sections, but was not completely destroyed as in other locations such as Belmar.
