Asbury Board of Education candidates forum on Oct 6
League of Women Voters also lists area vote-by-mail drop boxes
The League of Women Voters of Southern Monmouth County will be conducting a virtual candidates forum for Asbury Park Board of Education candidates on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 pm.
Five candidates are running for three seats. The full board has nine members.
Two candidates — Anthony Remy and Iman-Mtume Hall — are running together on the Children First slate.
Three other candidates — Carritta Cook, Giuseppe “Joe” Grillo and Wendi Glassman — are running on the Moving Ahead Together slate.
The Statewide Education Organizing Committee is the sponsor for this event and The Coaster newspaper is the media sponsor.
To register for this virtual forum go to the website, lwvsmc.org and click on the big red button “Forums and Webinars” on the right side of the home page.
The League of Women’s Voters of Southern Monmouth Country also want to publicize that there will be ballot drop boxes provided by the county clerk for voters to cast their vote-by-mail ballots this year. Voters may also mail in their ballots through the U.S. Mail.
According to a news release from the League of Women’s Voters of Southern Monmouth County, there will be 17 Drop Boxes county-wide for your Vote By Mail ballot in our immediate area. These designated boxes offer security and speedy delivery counted in Freehold. These are the boxes within our immediate area:
Asbury Park City Hall — City Council Chambers (Bangs Avenue entrance)
Borough of Belmar Municipal Building
Neptune Township Municipal Building — Library Entrance
Ocean Township Town Hall
Wall Township Municipal Building
