Asbury Festalle supporting Nepal Earthquake victims
10 percent of Wednesday and Thursday sales will be donated
Lake Avenue’s Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten is joining the support for Nepal Earthquake Relief.
Along with their sister restaurant, Pilsener Haus & Biergarten of Hoboken, 10 percent of today and Thursday’s gross sales will go to Global Giving’s Nepal relief efforts, according to a statement sent this afternoon.
Today, BBC News reported relief is starting to reach the country’s remote villages near the epicenter of Saturday’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake that took the lives of more than 5,000 people.
According to Global Giving, money raised will initially support a mix of emergency first responders, such as International Medical Corps, Save the Children and Mercy Corps.
Long terms goals are to financially support community-based organization that will help with the rebuilding efforts.
At the time of this posting, the nonprofit organization raised $1,647,584 through 23,396 donations, according to their website.
