Asbury Fresh Returns Mother’s Day in Kennedy Park
Fresh Farmers & Makers Markets Also Moves Location in Bradley Beach and Launches In Bell Works
Just in time for Mother’s Day, the city’s popular Asbury Fresh Market kicks off its seventh season at Kennedy Park, located at 104 Grand Ave.
The seasonal farmers and makers market runs for 28 weeks and features over 55 farmers, local artisan, and other food purveyors.
“We’ve been working hard these past few months to really curate the best of the best,” Product Manager Brian Sienkiewicz said. “We’ve lined up an incredible selection of farms, meat, seafood and cheese purveyors, as well as a wonderful group of local artisans.”
The market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and you may notice a few familiar faces. Sienkiewicz said returning vendors include Rolling Hills Farm, Sugar Maple Jerseys, Sea You Again Jewelry, Kulture Kombucha and Pickle Licious.
And as expected, there are a host of new offering, including Mendies Farm, Fox Hollow Vineyards and Esposito’s Fish Market.
The Mother’s Day opening will feature a performance by the Paul Heaney Trio, local artists with special items designed just for moms, as well as free 10 minute massages by Maitrisage – Massage & Reflexology and Face Painting By Emily.
In related news, the Asbury Fresh team’s Bradley Fresh venture will be moving to waterfront this season, Sienkiewicz said. Bradley Fresh will run from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at Fifth and Ocean avenues from May 31 to August 30 in the green space next to the Fifth Avenue Pavilion.
The group will also run a 14 week indoor market at Bell Works in Holmdel – the 2 million square foot technology ‘Metroburb’ that is home to over 50 businesses and technology startups, Sienkiewicz said. Bell Works Fresh will run from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays from May 30 to September 5, serving the 3000 employees and the greater Holmdel community.
“As a technology entrepreneur, running a market in Bell Works is such a humbling endeavor,” Fresh Markets Founder and CEO Bret Morgan said. “I grew up reading stories about all of the innovation that happened within their walls and it’s exciting that we have a chance to make our mark.”
