IStar expects to close on 25 percent of residential units this year
The first penthouse at the Asbury Ocean Club Surfside resorts and residences is closing with a record sale at $5 million, believed to be the highest sale for a residential unit in Asbury Park, according to a news release issued by waterfront redeveloper iStar.
With 4,100 square feet of indoor space and 2,200 square feet of outdoor space, the sold penthouse boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms and two powder rooms, the release stated. There are seven penthouses in the building.
The 17-story oceanfront property has welcomed its first residents this summer and expects to close the sales of 25 percent of the building this year. There are 130 residential units in the building. The tower also houses a boutique hotel on the fourth floor which opened July Fourth weekend.
“Asbury Park has arrived. As one of the most talked-about, trend-setting destinations in the Northeast, the city’s rich history and commitment to art, culture and music has become evident on an international scale,” said Jodi Stasse, Senior Managing Director of Corcoran Sunshine, who leads the project’s sales and marketing team. “Asbury Ocean Club offers both a tranquil resort setting and a vibrant city energy with restaurants, concerts and shops just steps away from the property.
The project is owned by master waterfront redeveloper iStar, which also is the majority owner of The Asbury hotel.
