Asbury Park Board of Education reorganizes
Three newly elected members sworn into service
The Asbury Park Board of Education swore in its newest members Tuesday during its annual reorganization meeting.
Sheila Etienne, Kenneth Saunders and Angela Ahbez-Anderson were sworn into office by business administrator Geoffrey Hastings.
Harris was voted president of the board and Saunders was named Vice president.
The board attorney gave a brief overview of the school board’s code of ethics and asked each member to sign and return their pledge.
The board voted to meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month and adopted Roberts Rules of Order as its parliamentary procedure manual.
Former board member Christian Hall was presented a certificate of recognition during the public portion of the meeting. Hall thanked current members of the school district’s administration, curren and past members of the board.
Harris asked each board member to submit preferences to serve on the six committees.
The next Board of Education meeting will be held 7 p.m. January 21 at the Bradley Elementary School, 1100 Third Avenue.
