Asbury Park Brewery opens on Sewall
Twenty barrel brew house and tasting room offers flights, pints, growlers and kegs
The Asbury Park Brewery Tasting room opened 4 p.m. Friday.
On the menu are an XPA, Stout, and Ale via flights and pints, or growlers in kits and fills.
The brainchild of a group of musicians who say their beers are sessionable and traditional, using only premium ingredients and local vibes, the Asbury Park Brewery aims to provide ‘highly drinkable, attractively priced beers.”
Located in the warehouse behind the Main Street-located Family Dollar store on Sewall Avenue, the concrete décor is complimented by the minimalist black and white art that gives a nod to the city’s and their love of music.
The tasting room’s seating includes pallet benches accented by wooden spools.
Founder Jeff Plate is giving tours of the 9,600 square foot space, equipped with a 20 barrel brew house capable of producing 3,000 barrels annually.
“We’ve got a great crowd already,” Plate said shortly after the bay door opened. “I think the brand has attracted a lot of positive attention in Asbury Park and around the state. We are looking forward to a very happy end of summer.”
The Asbury Park Brewery self distributes throughout the state. The Tasting Room is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon to 10 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Patrons can purchase a kegs and take a growler to go.
