Asbury Park fireworks attract 20k people
Photos and videos show some of the highlights
With packed beaches, John Eddie’s return to the Stone Pony with his Dirty Ole Band, and a Fourth of July fireworks display that was rescheduled, parking along the Asbury Park waterfront was scarce most of the day Saturday.
By 6 p.m. the beaches were cleared so Garden State Fireworks could complete setup for the display, which lasted over 20 minutes. Asbury Park Police Chief Mark Kinmon put crowd estimates for the show at 20,000 people.
Thanks to modern technology, anyone who didn’t make it out has a chance to see some of the highlights.
Here’s a short Vimeo video of some of the display shot from a drone that hovered near the south side of Convention Hall.
