Asbury Park Music Foundation announces concert lineup
Springwood Avenue Park Grand Opening Saturday; series kicks off June 27
Saturday’s grand opening of Springwood Avenue Park will be followed by the Asbury Park Music Foundation’s launch of its Levitt AMP Summer Concert Series.
The Grand Opening, held from noon to 2 p.m., will feature music by DJ REEM, food and entertainment, according to organizers. The park is located on Springwood Avenue between Atkins and Union avenues.
The concert series, held p.m. Mondays from June 27 to Aug. 29, is sponsored in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a private family foundation that empowers communities to transform neglected public spaces into thriving destinations through the power of free, live music.
The 10 week family-friendly concerts will feature a diverse lineup of high caliber talent spanning genres like soul, doo-wop, funk and rock, organizers said.
Locally, the concert series is supported by Interfaith Neighbors, the Asbury Park Press, and New Jersey Natural Gas.

Organizers invite the public to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open patio and lawn setting. There will also be food available for purchase at the event.
