Asbury Park, Neptune men accused of burglary
Woman who resides in apartment was home, fled and called police
Two Asbury Park residents and a Neptune resident were arrested after they were found in an Ocean Township apartment with burglary tools and weapons in their possession.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1 at approximately 12:39 a.m. township police responded to a call from a woman at an address on Aldrin Road who said she heard a knock at her apartment door and did not recognize the man who knocked, according to a news release from Ocean Township police. The woman fled the apartment and dialed 911, the release stated.
Police arrived on the scene and witnessed a “suspicious” man walking away from the scene and two additional men who were not granted access to the apartment still inside, the release stated.
The three subjects, identified as Alex Beaubrun, 19, Asbury Park; Marquis G. Martin, 20, Asbury Park; and Michael Ramos, 23, Neptune, were placed under arrest and taken into custody.
Officers located a pry tool at the scene as well as two handguns belonging to the intruders. One of the handguns was a blank pistol and the other was a CO2 powered pellet gun. An investigation revealed that the three pried open the apartment door and entered the apartment.
Beaubrun was charged with burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $25,000 with an option to post ten percent.
Ramos was charged with burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. His bail was set at $40,000.00 with no ten percent option.
Martin was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. His bail was set at $25,000 with a ten percent option.
Additionally, a 2006 4-door Hyundai was seized under the state criminal forfeiture guidelines for being used in the commission of a crime, the release stated.
All three subjects were taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold to await a future court hearing.
