Asbury Park, Neptune man indicted on attempted murder charges
Pair are accused of shooting a Neptune resident in Sept. 2013
An Asbury Park man and a Neptune man have been accused of attempting to murder a 28-year-old Neptune resident, according to an indictment handed up by a Monmouth County Grand Jury Tuesday.
Malik Briggs, 26, Asbury Park and Tyrice Berry, 21, Neptune were brought up on two counts each of first degree attempted murder, second degree aggravated assault, second degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and three counts of second degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to court documents.
The charges stem from a September 2013 incident where Neptune Township Police received a call reporting a man had been shot on Monroe Avenue. When they arrived they found the 28-year-old victim with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Both are being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institute on $600,000 bail each, according to jail records.
