Power has been restored to a Kingsley St. location.

Porta Pizza now has full power, according to manager and head pizzaiola Freddi Vilardi [above on right with staff]. The Kingsley St. establishment plans at 1 p.m. opening today for the bar, and a 2 p.m. opening to serve a limited menu of marinara pizza and nutella pizza, Vilardi said.

Porta will serve the food until 6 p.m. and the bar will be open until 7 p.m., Vilardi said. Porta could stay open later if the city-wide 7 p.m. curfew is lifted, she said.

Meanwhile, illustrating the deployment of power personnel from across the country, a convoy of nine large utility trucks from Alabama Power were seen heading north this morning on Deal Lake Drive over the Norwood Ave. bridge.
