Bail terms change for August shooting incident suspect
City resident has prior arrest history, was on parole
A Monmouth County Superior Court Judge increased the bail provisions Monday for a 21-year-old city man arrested for the shooting death of 20-year-old Tyrell Howard due to his status as being on parole, according to county officials.
Judge Honora O’Brien Kilgallen increased Bryan Burford’s [shown at right] bail provisions from $1 million with no 10 percent option to $1 million cash-only said Charles Webster, public information officer for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Webster’s office is prohibited from releasing prior arrest records or information on the cause of Burford’s parole status.
The NJ Department of Corrections Website shows Burford spent over two and a half years in a correctional facility for an aggravated assault charge that occurred in June 2010. He was released May 23 of this year.
Burford was arrested Sunday and charged with murder, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a firearm in conjunction with a shooting that killed Howard on Aug. 16 at the Washington Village Apartment Complex, on Washington Avenue, according to a release from the prosecutor’s office.
