Bamboozle public awareness meetings set
Officials will set the record straight next Monday, Tuesday
The Bamboozle festival will bring thousands of people to Asbury Park in just over two weeks. Early next week, city officials and representatives from LiveNation will share details of the festival with residents and business owners in two public awareness meetings.
“We are scheduling public meetings to notify the residents and business community and our neighbors as to what is actually going to happen and what they’re going to expect,” city special events coordinator Tom Gilmour said. “I think it’s important we spread the word as much as possible.”
The dates were set at last night’s council meeting. Residents can attend a meeting at the Paramount Theater on Monday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting for business owners will be held the next morning in the city’s council chambers at 8 a.m.
The business community will learn “what’s going to happen, what to expect and how to position their businesses to take the most opportunity of what’s going on in the city,” Gilmour said.
Officials from LiveNation were slated to present final plans for the event to the council during its closed executive meeting at 5 p.m. yesterday.
Bamboozle is set for May 18 through 20 and is estimated to bring 100,000 people to the city over the course of the event.
