The first of the city’s weekly beach bonfires takes place Friday night on the Fifth Avenue beach.

Flames will start crackling at 8 p.m., following a 5 p.m. clambake at the Beach Bar, which is located on the southern promenade of Convention Hall [shown above].

Weekly fires will be held on Fridays in June, switch to Wednesdays in July and August and back to Fridays in September and October, weather permitting.

All of the fires are sponsored by Boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette.

While the fires will be held at various locations on the beachfront from 7 to 11 p.m., they will mostly happen at the Fifth Avenue beach adjacent to the south side of Convention Hall.
