Beats & Rhymes Boot Camp Launches In Asbury Park
Weeklong Boys & Girls Club Free Program Runs July 30 to Aug 3
The Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County has announced the launch of a new music summer camp for local teens at the Monroe Avenue location in Asbury Park
The free Beats & Rhymes Boot Camp, running from July 30 to Aug 3, will give teens the chance to write, record, rehearse, and perform original music, organizers said in a written statement.
Being held in conjunction with Lakehouse Recording Studios with support from the Asbury Park Music Foundation, the boot camp will cover everything from songwriting to audio production and engineering.
On the final day, the teens recording at Lakehouse will be followed by a 7 p.m. performance showcase at the Asbury Park Music Foundation.
The Boot Camp is an outgrowth of the Hip Hop Institute at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, which launched in 2015 in collaboration with Lakehouse Music Academy.
Lakehouse music instructors help run workshops that cover everything from mixing music on state-of-the-art audio engineering equipment to acquiring the skills needed for writing, producing, and marketing their creations, organizers said. Students explore the back-end process to producing a record including editing, sound engineering, and branding.
