Bradley Beach Man Charged in Bank Of America Robbery

Bardis Faces up to 10 years for $700 theft at Route 35 branch

A Bradley Beach man has been charged in connection with last Tuesday’s robbery at Bank of America, located at 1100 Route 35, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced via a written news release.

Spiros Bardis, 31, of Bradley Beach, was arrested Friday evening and charged with second degree robbery. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean Township Police Department.

Officials said the investigation revealed that at 10:18 a.m. a male entered the bank wearing a motorcycle helmet. He passed a note to one of the tellers demanding money. The teller turned over approximately $700 before the male fled the scene on a white motorcycle.

If convicted, Bardis faces a maximum sentence of 10 years with 85% parole ineligibility. He was remanded to Monmouth County Jail and has a scheduled Aug 8 detention hearing before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge James J. McGann.

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings.
