Bruno: Future of Asbury Park is on the line in this election
'If you miss this vote, you will regret it for many years'
Editor, Asbury Park Sun,
The Asbury Park election is just a few days away and all residents must come out and support Asbury Together.
This election is the most important one since 2001.
It’s imperative that we, as a community, support Asbury Together: John Moor for mayor, Amy Quinn, Jesse Kendle, Joe Woerner, and Yvonne Clayton for city council.
If the Asbury Together campaign fails to get elected our city will take a major step backwards. Developers, small and large alike, will think twice about investing in Asbury Park, which in return will make property values go down and taxes will go up.
The future of Asbury Park depends on this election, it’s as simple as that. A bright future or who knows?
I’ll take the bright future.
Asbury Together are the most diverse ticket running — white, black, east, west, gay and straight. They are running with plans for the future of our city with the entire city in mind, the best interests of everyone.
Their opponents are well funded, organized and are very good at gathering votes, in many ways. But, they are NOT the best choice for our city. Their opponents already have close to four hundred vote-by-mail ballots — that’s how organized they are. Which is why it is SO important that everyone gets out to vote on Nov. 4th.
Friends, this is for real!
If you miss this vote, you will regret it for many years. Residents must get out to vote. Landlords get your tenants out to vote. All of us have a stake in this race.
Moor for mayor.
Quinn, Kendle, Woerner, Clayton for city council.
— Jim Bruno, former deputy mayor, Asbury Park
