Calling local artists for mural project
Asbury Park Public Arts Commission will review design submissions
The Asbury Park Public Arts Commission is seeking local artists who would be interested in volunteering to lead a community mural on a temporary construction fence in the 700 Block of Cookman Avenue, according to a news release issued by the city.
Artists of all levels are encouraged to apply.
The mural would be temporary and would be painted this fall. The fence area is 20 feet in width by 10 feet in height. “We encourage artists to look at the fence itself before submitting a design,” the release stated.
To be considered, submit a design to Michele Alonso, Director of Planning and Redevelopment, at michele.alonso@cityofasburypark.com no later than October 12.
The Asbury Park Public Art Commission will review all design submissions and select an artist at their October 19 meeting.
