Car Burglaries Continue In Ocean Township Neighborhoods
Police Department Warns Residents to Be Vigilant And Lock Cars
The Ocean Township Police Department has put out a car burglary advisory for residents living in the West Allenhurst section of the community.
“Overnight from 4/12 into 4/13 numerous unlocked vehicles were entered on multiple streets,” the advisory states. “They occurred north and south of Corlies Avenue. Detectives are currently on scene processing vehicles as we look to further the investigation.”
The advisory is among a spate of notices in recent months notifying residents that burglaries are occurring en masse throughout the community.
In recent weeks the department has investigated burglaries throughout the West Deal, Deal Park, and Oakhurst neighborhoods as well as in West Allenhurst,
The police department again advised residents to do the following:
- Please LOCK your vehicles.
- Report suspicious vehicles or people.
- If you have exterior surveillance cameras please review the footage from overnight to see if anything was captured.
- Remove any personal property that is in plain sight, secure it in the trunk or bring the item with you.
