Car Chase Ends In Cocaine Possession Arrest
OTPD: Neptune man threw narcotics out window & was in possession of stolen driver's license
A Monday night car chase led to the cocaine and stolen property possession arrest of a Neptune man, Ocean Township Police Department announced in a written statement.
Frank Cooper, 40, of Neptune was charged with eluding, possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, loitering with the purpose to obtain drugs, and being in receipt of stolen property.
Officials said detectives observed suspicious activity in the area of Sunset Avenue near 7:39 p.m. When they attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop along Route 35 South, the accused ignored their warning lights and siren. A brief pursuit ended in the area of the Asbury Park traffic circle.
Further investigation revealed that Cooper threw narcotics from his vehicle as police were attempting to apprehend him. He was in possession of a stolen driver’s license.
Cooper was released on a criminal summons, pending a future court appearance.
Detectives Jesse Orbach, Michael Legg and Detective Sergeant Patrick Martin investigated.
