Chamber’s Carousel Award Honorees Announced
Pivinski, words! Books, Floyd & Dickerson, The Akins, Mottola, Bruno & AP Toy Drive Receive Annual Accolade
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2020 Carousel Award honorees.
The annual event acknowledges those in the community who have gone above and beyond in support of commerce, community and humanity, Executive Director Sylvia Sylvia has said.
“I couldn’t be more excited to announce this year’s slate,” Sylvia Cioffi said. These honorees represent the very heart of Asbury Park. They are entrepreneurs, who’ve helped to restore the vitality of the economy, along with volunteers, residents, and icons, who have shown us that success and hope springs eternal in this magnificent city.”
Being held on May 8, this year’s boardwalk themed event will pay homage to many well-known symbols of Asbury Park, the city that lives, loves and endures, Sylvia. The 2020 Carousel honorees exemplify the dedication, loyalty, and vision that it takes to build a better future for Asbury Park.
The 2020 Honorees are:
-The Humanitarian Award – Pastors Lyddale and Traci Akins (Asbury Park Triumphant Life Church)
-The Joan Flatley Spirit of Asbury Park Award – Tom Pivinski, in recognition of the AP Environmental Shade Tree Commission Volunteers
-The Kenneth T. Roth Landmark Business Award – words! Asbury Park
-The Public Official Award – Leesha Floyd & Cassandra Dickerson (The City of Asbury Park)
-The Visionary Award – Gary Mottola (Sr. Executive, Madison Marquette)
-Lifetime Achievement Award – Jimmy Bruno (Former AP Firefighter, Deputy Mayor & School Board President)
-President’s Choice Award – Asbury Park Toy Drive
