City teen arrested for armed robbery
Accused of robbing two other juveniles of cash at gunpoint
A 17-year-old city resident has been accused of robbing two other juveniles while they were leaving a festival in Ocean Township Wednesday.
On August 7., two juveniles reported they had been robbed of their cash at gunpoint the night before while leaving Joe Palaia Park near Deal Test Site and Whalepond Road, according to a release from Ocean Township Police. The two were had attended an Italian American Festival held in the park, the release stated.
A police investigation resulted in the arrest of an Asbury Park teen. The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The two juvenile victims were not harmed during the robbery, the release stated.
The juvenile suspect was transported to the Youth Detention Center to await a future court hearing.
