Convention Hall bar offers cocktails infused with seasonal spirit
Busy bar caters to holiday shoppers
The Holiday Bazaar isn’t the only thing attracting shoppers to Convention Hall this season. Those in need of a holiday-infused cocktail can flock to the historic landmark’s yule-themed bar, härTH, open every weekend this month.
The bar, whose name is a play on the word hearth and meant to express warmth and comfort, offers hot and cold cocktails with a wintry touch. And starting tomorrow, the Metro Grille & Café will use the space’s kitchen to prepare food to be sold to hungry shoppers.
The space, which formerly housed Aqua, is covered by the Convention Hall liquor license, according to Angie Sugrim of Madison Marquette, and this isn’t the first time AP Boardwalk has run a holiday pop-up bar.
“We have been very happy with the response to the bar’s presence in the Holiday Bazaar,” Sugrim said. “It is a good addition to the Arcade’s offerings and is integral to the events happening in Convention Hall and the Grand Arcade.”
Such events include the tree lighting held in late November; an Ugly Sweater Party; the Mingle Jingle on Saturday and the Office Party Palooza on Dec. 21.
The bar is open on Fridays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. It will also be open on New Year’s Day for the Sons of Ireland Polar Plunge.
