Cookman Avenue’s Larry Cadillac Offers Cuts For Cats
Oct 15 Feline Fundraising Event In Support Of Catsbury Park
Two new kids in the downtown Asbury Park block are joining forces in support of felines.
Larry Cadillac owner Lawrence Gerard is hosting a Cuts For Cats event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct 15 at his 725 Cookman Avenue Salon.
All proceeds will be donated to Catsbury Park Tea House & Cat Lounge [at right], the recently opened cat cafe that offers an array of healthy fare, including a seasonal quiche, veggie focaccia, salads, quinoa porridge, and sweet snacks like its citrus honey tea cake and double chocolate rye cookie.
“Catsbury Park is a non-profit corporation with the goal of helping as many kittens and cats find loving forever homes,” Gerard said. “The money we raise will help offset their costs and help with the care for all the felines who take residence there.”
Catsbury Park Catsbury Park is the brainchild of D.J. Bornschein, a Jersey Shore native who returned home after a 20-year career in the music industry. The venture began in 2016 from his home. And while they were able to place 37 kittens in forever homes within 2 months, the goal was to create a space where the public could learn about and interact with cats.
In addition to men’s and women’s haircuts, Larry Cadillac will be raffling off an array of donated items in support of the cause.
Gerard, owner of Salon in Manalapan, is also known for his Asbury Archaeology venture, a collection of the cool stuff that made the Jersey Shore great, including graffiti and pop art, antiques, Asian erotica, Buddhas, vintage watches and Vietnam lighters, to name a few.
Larry Cadillac will be offering discounted haircuts at its right-fit Asbury salon that offers a blend of old-school meets new-style mentality.
Catsbury Cafe opened last month at 708 Cookman Avenue offering a coffee, tea and a bit of meow. It is the state’s first full-service cat cafe.
Stay tuned to Larry Cadillac’s Facebook page for updates and a showcase of the donated items up for raffle on Oct 15.
