Cowerks Launches New Year
Networking, Professional Development, Marketing Events for Entrepreneurs & Startups
Kicking off the new year in their newly completed Junction Hall hub and renovated space in the Lakehouse building, Cowerks has launched a series of events aimed at helping local entrepreneurs discuss ideas and trends in technology and marketing fields.
Founded in 2010 by Danny Croak and Bret Morgan, Cowerks provides flexible workspace, private office space, and a community for Monmouth and Ocean County ‘entrepreneurs, startups, tech enthusiasts, and business leaders looking to network, learn, and grow their businesses.’
This past year saw the Junction Hall creation, a second location shared with Second Life Bikes at 21 Main Street.
Below find a list of the January events:
9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday: the first Linode Networking Breakfast of the new year will be held at Cowerks Lakehouse location. “Linode‘s resident partnership with Cowerks is an ongoing effort to positively support the startup and tech culture in Asbury Park and Monmouth County,” Morgan said.
Noon to 2 p.m. Jan 12: Lunch & Learn at Cowerks Lakehouse location features corporate attorneys Jared Sorin and David Matlin of McCarter & English. The practice’s primary focus is on early stage, emerging growth, tech and tech-enabled companies, including technology, software, communications, marketing communications, Internet, alternative energy, nanotechnology, and life sciences enterprises, as well as the financial institutions, investors, directors, and executives who support and lead them, Morgan said. This event allows participants to sit one-on-one with the attorneys and ask questions specific to their startup or business.
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jan 18: Marketing Freelancing in 2017: How to Hire or Get Hired in the Gig features a panel discussion with Greg Edgerton, Founder of Humble Humans; Chris Delany, Founder and CEO of SEM Geeks; and Corey Eulas, founder of Factory Digital. “All of our panelists have over 10 years of big agency experience in improving digital acquisition strategy,” Morgan said. Moderated by Jim Lenskold, the panel will address topics such as creative design, media planning, web development, marketing automation, event management, dashboard metrics and analytics.
8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Jan. 20: Coffee & Coworking launches at Cowerks’ Junction Hall, located at 21 Main Street. The informal networking event connects entrepreneurs, developers, designers, and investors from throughout the area.
