Cowerks partners w/ College of Robotics for Summer Camp
Weeklong programs open to Monmouth students ages 7 to 12
Innovation continues this summer as Cowerks launches a new Robotics curriculum, open to all Monmouth County students ages 7 to 12.
The Lake Avenue shared flex office space and networking hub for technology freelancers and startups will run two weeklong Robot Summer Camps based on an enrichment program to encourage science, technology, engineering, and mathematics [STEM] education, officials said in a written announcement.
The program is made possible through a partnership with The College of Robotics in Portland, and runs from Aug 15 to 19 and from Aug 22 to 26. Adults over 18 are welcome to sign up.
The College of Robotics faculty are highly qualified roboticists, teachers, software architects and experts in artificial intelligence, according to the statement. Their classes steer students on a journey through the physical and virtual world – utilizing avatars to teach the kids adds another dimension to learning.
The Cowerks program will run from 1 to 4 p.m. for five contiguous days.
“Our camp will provide children with a foundation to become life long roboticists who are aware of the software and technological resources available in the world – and more importantly how to make the most out of those resources,” co founder Bret Morgan said.
The course costs are based on whether students opt to take completed robots and its battery pack home at the camp’s conclusion. Pricing begins with the current early bird special of $199 [$299 including robot]; the standard pricing is $299 [$349 with robot]. Kids are encouraged to bring snacks for a designated break.
Cowerks is located at 619 Lake Ave. For more information or to register, click here. For more information about Cowerks e-mail team@cowerking.com or visit cowerks.com.
