Another restaurant on the boardwalk closed in the wake of Hurricane Sandy is scheduled to reopen this weekend.

Weather permitting, Cubacan will reopen Friday night at 5 p.m., said Nick Olivieri, one of the restaurant’s owners. On Saturday, Cubacan will resume its normal schedule of serving lunch and dinner every day, opening at noon daily and closing at 10 p.m. on the weekdays and Sunday, and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

“We’re really excited about reopening,” said Olivieri. “Most of our staff is coming back.”

Cubacan [shown in photo above last summer the day the restaurant was reviewed in the New York Times] serves Cuban-Latin cuisine. It’s located in the First Avenue pavilion, which also houses Stella Marina restaurant and Watermark. Those two establishments have reopened after storm repairs.

Live music will resume on the weekends at Cubacan, featuring the return of the restaurant’s house band, Olivieri said.
