DIY workshop series aimed at helping city’s entrepreneurs
Interfatih’s Biz Dev Center hosts 5-session marketing workshop
Interfaith Neighbor’s Business Development Center has announced a new workshop series aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small business owners maneuver the marketing terrain.
In the past few months, the city has seen a growth in the opening of small businesses by local entrepreneurs.
In the Main Street district Chocolate Sage, Dark City Brewing Co, Parkemoor, and Lentil Tree opened, while the Downtown zone welcomed Cardinal, Bond and Bangs Apothecary, Talking Heads Barbershop, Purple Glaze, Spirit Cove, and Uncorked Wine Inspired Creations, to name just a few.
The Business Development Center works to support economic development and encourage local business growth within Asbury Park. It offers entrepreneurs and small business owners a full spectrum of support services and low-cost office space at its facility at 1201 Springwood Ave.
Held in partnership with DIY Marketing Studio of Neptune, the local nonprofit will run “What The Heck” on alternating Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. April 13 to June 8 at The ShowRoom Cinema on Cookman Avenue.
The five-session series covers benchmark techniques for website, e-mail marketing, social media, video production, and podcasting by a collaborative of established business owners, organizers said.
Guidance in campaign development, layout, and graphics, are all a part of the professional DIY community’s education and support offerings.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss specific marketing concerns during a dedicated Q&A segment and are given a list of successful examples and recommendations for free/low-cost resources. The series culminates with a mock-up business scenario that highlights sustainable marketing.
After the series, DIY Marketing Studio’s ‘Heckathon,’ gives workshop participants a chance to work one-on-one with marketing experts to establish effective and sustainable marketing practices.
Tickets are $20 per session, on sale now. To register for each session, visit www.businessdevcenter.eventbrite.com.
