Eatontown man dies in single car crash along Rte. 35
Police asks anyone who witnessed accident contact dept.
A 25-year-old Eatontown man has died following a single car crash along Route 35 early Tuesday morning, according to a news release from Ocean Township Police Department spokesman Det. Lt. Kevin Faller.
Preliminary investigation found that Malik J. Edwards lost control of his 1995 Ford Mustang, Faller said.
Police were called at approximately 1:52 a.m. to the crash site along northbound Route 35 near Herbert Avenue.
“The driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, and struck a utility pole,” Faller said. “Mr. Edwards died as a result of his injuries sustained in the collision.”
The collision remains under investigated by Patrol Officer Alisa Martinez of the Township of Ocean Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Officers Luke Sciallo, Steven Walker, Zachary Rhein, Gregory Martone and Sergeants Paul Flammia and Todd Gregory assisted at the scene.
