Environmental Commission seeks Fall Cleanup volunteers
Saturday Greenings will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.
Fall is here and for many of thus this means putting our gardens to bed for the winter.
The Environmental Shade Tree Commission [ESTC] is in the same boat.
Over the next few weekends, the ESTC will be clearing, cleaning, planting, and putting gardens to bed for the winter.
Volunteers are needed from 9 to 11 a.m. for these Saturday Greenings, ESTC Chair Tom Pivinski said.
“Tools are provided so no need to bring anything but your good humor and willing hands,” Pivinski said in a written statement.
Upcoming projects include the Rain Garden, Community Garden, Trolley Triangle, replanting grasses along Sunset Lake donated by the residents at Wesley Grove, and if time allows, cleaning up the rose bed at the Post Office, Pivinski said.
Saturday’s cleaning will be at the Rain Garden [shown above], located at Main Street and Springwood Avenue.
The ESTC is a municipal committee that assists residents with planting, trimming, and public tree removals. They meet at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month in the City Council Chambers at 1 Municipal Plaza.
