Fast Lane building demolition is well underway
Sun photo album shows status of tear down
A large portion of the building once housing the Fast Lane nightclub has been demolished as the razing of the structure continues.
The demolition is at the request of the owners of Asbury Lanes, the 1960s era bowling alley and music venue adjacent to the Fast Lane building. Once the land is cleared, Asbury Lanes plans to use it as an outdoor bar area with picnic tables and horseshoe pits, Fast Lane co-owner Pat Fasano previously told the Sun.
Waterfront redeveloper iStar Financial owns the former Fast Lane building and is conducting the demolition. IStar will lease the land to Fasano and his partner Vince Gifford through the summer of 2015.
After that time, plans are for iStar to take over the Asbury Lanes building. Gifford and Fasano have an agreement with iStar to trade the Asbury Lanes site for two properties owned by iStar on Second Avenue.
