Four shot in Neptune over two days
Man suffers punctured lung in separate stabbing incident
Four men were shot and one stabbed in three separate incidents that took place Sunday and Monday evenings.
Two men were shot in the area of 404 Myrtle Ave. in Neptune Sunday.
Neptune police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired in the area shortly after 10 p.m., where there was apparently a large party occurring, Webster said.
Both were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
On Monday Neptune police responded to the 1600 block of Sewall Avenue at 11:13 p.m. after again receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired, Webster said.
A 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male suffered non life-threatening gun shot wounds in the incident, he said. Both were taken to a local hospital where they remain in stable condition, he said. The locations are less than a half mile apart.
Investigation into both incidents remain active and ongoing.
Also on Sunday, at around 8 p.m., an 18-year-old male was stabbed once in either the chest or the back, puncturing one of his lungs, Webster said.
Asbury Park Police responded and the man was taken to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for the non life-threatening injury, Webster said. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Asbury Park police are actively investigating the incident.
