Fourth of July Fireworks & Parade
Fireworks in Ocean Township & Asbury Park and Ocean Grove Parade
There’s a double dose of fireworks displays and a parade being planned locally for this holiday week.
First up is Ocean Township’s 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday show at Joe Palaia Park on Whalepond Road. Township officials advise attendees should give themselves plenty of time to park and find a spot to watch the display.
The gates open at 6 p.m. and vendors will be on site. No pets are allowed and there is limited parking available on some of the side streets, officials said.
Ocean Grove’s annual parade will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The parade begins on Whitefield Avenue and turns east along Main Avenue to Central Avenue, then turns north towards Ocean Pathway, then east again, ending along Ocean Avenue. This year’s Grand Marshall is Ocean Grove historian and author Ted Bell.
The annual Fourth of July Fireworks in Asbury Park kick off at dusk [about 9 p.m.], officials said. The display sets off on the Second and Fourth avenue beaches.
Officials advise to expect closed roads and traffic following the show. A July 6 rain date is planned.
