The Asbury Park-based Fresh Markets returns next month, offering 14-holiday popup markets at five locations across the Jersey Shore – Porta Pizza, Bell Works, The Monmouth Mall, and both the Jackson & Jersey Shore Premium Outlets.

“When it comes to gift-giving, shoppers are demanding more choices and more creativity,” Founder Bret Morgan said. “There’s so much incredible talent in our local community and we are really proud to be able to provide a platform for them to showcase and sell their work.”

Asbury Fresh was founded in 2012 as a way to bring fresh produce and specialty items to a growing downtown Asbury Park, organizers said. The idea quickly took off and Asbury Fresh grew from four tents in a park to close to 60 each week during those first few years.

In 2016, the group rebranded as Fresh Markets and went on to launch satellite markets in Bell Works, Pier Village as well as the holiday pop-up series; geared towards showcasing locally made gifts.

Shoppers can expect to find handmade, locally produced items, holiday ornaments, specialty food and other unique gifts for friends and family, Morgan said.
