Gas Main Leak Closes Portion of Main Street In AP While Deal PD Reports Drug Possession Arrests
Deal Police have reported a series of drug possession charges, while Asbury Park closes a portion of Main Street due to a gas main leak.
Main Street is closed between Third and Second avenues in Asbury Park due to a gas main being struck.
This is the third time a gas main has been struck during the Main Street Road Diet construction.
Officials are asking motorists use Memorial Drive as an alternate route.
In Deal, three people were arrested following a Tuesday night motor vehicle stop on drug possession charges.
Victoria DaSilva-Albano, 26, of Oakhurst, Kevin Ferguson, 32, of Neptune, and Sara Sherbine, 29, of Asbury Park were charged with possession cocaine and heroin, two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, and unlawful drug possession in a motor vehicle. Ferguson was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, unclear license plates and maintenance of lamps.
Officials said Ptl Jeff Kless was on a routine patrol near 11:10 pm when he observed a motor vehicle violation along Ocean Avenue. After conducting a motor vehicle stop in Long Branch, officers discovered the aforementioned drugs and paraphernalia.
Ferguson was released on a criminal summons to a responsible sober adult, Sherbine was released on a criminal summons pending a court date, and DaSilva-Albano was remanded to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
Sgt Brian Egan and Ptl Zach Bell assisted in the investigation.
A similar drug arrest was made near 10:29 am last Friday, according to officials.
Ian Nitto, 30, of Long Branch was charged with possession of heroin and of a prescription drug not in its proper container, as well as failure to turnover the unlawful drugs to an officer.
Ptl Chris Mirrone was on a routine patrol when he observed a motor vehicle violation along Ocean Avenue. After conducting a motor vehicle stop on Cedar Avenue in Long Branch, officers Nitto to be in possession of the controlled dangerous substances.
in accordance with bail reform guidelines, Nitto was remanded to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
Ptl Nick Dowling assisted in the investigation.
Officials also said a 19 year old Asbury Park man was arrested for possession of drugs with the intent to distribute last Wednesday.
Alberto Moreno also received charges of drug paraphernalia possession, speeding and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.
Ptl Jeff Kless was conducting stationary radar enforcement near 1:06 pm Nov 21 on Grassmere Avenue in Interlaken when he observed a vehicle speeding. After conducting a motor vehicle stop near the area of Rona Street, Moreno was found to be in possession of the controlled dangerous substances with an intent to distribute.
He was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending a court date.
