Front wall collapses at former dental office
No injuries reported, cleanup underway
No injuries were reported during a Thursday morning wall collapse at 711 Mattison Avenue, Asbury Park Fire Chief Kevin Keddy said.
The incident occurred near 11:42 a.m. when city officials were called to the scene.
The former dental office’s front wall collapsed onto the sidewalk during the demolition process, Keddy said.
The scene was cleared by 12:02 p.m., Keddy said.
Site demolition contractor Henry Vaccaro said a fence was moved out to the curb line to accomodate demolition debris. The front wall fell onto the sidewalk instead of back on to the property as planned.
Cleanup is underway and the city’s construction official George Selah is investigating, Keddy said.
