The Asbury Park Homeowners Association will host their Second Annual Benefit for Asbury Park Youth Scholarships Sunday, August 24, in the outdoor space adjacent to Asbury Lanes.

The theme of the event is Tropical Island Nite. A total of $2000 worth of goods and services from area businesses will be auctioned or raffled off, along with tickets to see the New York Yankees play.

Admission to the event is free. Food and drink items will be available for purchase.

Last year the association raised $1500, said Michelle Maguire, a member of the board of trustees.

The funds were split into three $500 awards to supplement the cost of college books and moving expenses for three Asbury Park High School graduates, Maguire said. The students attend Brookdale University, Ohio University and Virginia Tech, she said.

The fundraiser takes place from 4 to 8 p.m.

Asbury Lanes is located at 209 Fourth Avenue.
