Gallery Residential Brokerage Hosts November Food Drive
Non Perishable Items Collected Thru Nov 30 At Mattison Avenue Office
Asbury Park realtors have signed on to hold a month-long food drive in support of Move For Hunger and its mission to stave off hunger throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, and beyond.
The Gallery Residential Brokerage firm, which opened June 1 on Mattison Avenue, will host a month long food drive in November.
Members of the Asbury Park community can donate non-perishable items through Nov 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 700 Mattison Avenue, Suite A.
More than 114,000 people, including 1 in 7 children, in Monmouth and Ocean counties are food insecure, said Move For Hunger spokesman Dan Beam.
Items needed include: peanut butter, tuna fish, rice, beans, pasta, cereal, canned soup, and canned fruits/vegetables.
Organizers said Lowy’s Moving Service, Move For Hunger’s partnering venture, has volunteered to pick up the donations and deliver them to Fulfill at the conclusion of the event.
Move For Hunger is a nonprofit that works to mobilize the national relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste by collecting food from people who are moving to new homes. To date, they have collected more than 9 million pounds of food, Beam said.
