GIFT Opens On Asbury Park Boardwalk in 4th Ave Pavilion
Curated by Parlor Gallery, art hub is a Wooden Walls and Madison Marquette collaboration
GIFT has landed on the Asbury Park boardwalk.
A collaboration between boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette, Parlor Gallery and the Wooden Walls project, GIFT is a new hub for art and culture within the city.
The gallery/workspace/ gift shop is located in the Fourth Avenue Pavilion at 1100 Ocean Avenue.
The concept is a build out based on the Wooden Walls mural project’s success, Madison Marquette’s spokesman Adam Nelson said. It will be a place for visiting and local artists to connect with the community at large. Featured artists will be invited to work within the space, host talks, workshops, and community centered events.
GIFT is curated by Parlor Gallery’s Jill Ricci and Jenn Hampton, showcasing masterworks by Wooden Walls muralists as well as emerging local, national and international artists.
Programming will include weekly salons, curated artist talks and exhibits, mural tours, Dinner With The Artist nights, and workshops for guests of all ages and experiences, Nelson said.
“The work within is available for purchase, offering visitors a unique opportunity to take home the Asbury Park Boardwalk’s most profound and beloved designs,” Nelson said.
And, with ‘a wink and nod to museum shops,’ GIFT houses a line of fun, limited-edition home goods, Nelson said. The custom made products include beach towels, tote bags, and alarm clocks by Shelter Home’s boardwalk shop Fun House.
The hours of operation are 11a.m. to 6pm Monday, by appointment Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
