Grant: Premier Theatre is an Asbury Park asset
Nonprofit builds 'confidence levels, imaginations, intellectual exposure'
Editor, the Asbury Park Sun,
The Premier Theatre represents the very best of Asbury Park. Its community-driven mission and diverse cast, including an age range from four to 76 years old, provides opportunities for Asbury Park and surrounding communities to find artistic expression through musical theater. Premier’s fruitful relationships with waterfront redeveloper Madison Marquette and local press help bring about a boost in economic help to a stressed city by playing to an audience in the hundreds who become customers at the local restaurants and retail shops not only on the boardwalk but in downtown Asbury.
The Premier Theatre Company is a nonprofit theatre and education program that works to bring the gift of visual and performing arts to the people of New Jersey. Premier strives to build personal confidence levels, imaginations and intellectual exposure while at the same time forming a bonding relationship with the members of the community. Its key goal is to assist new generations in keeping the arts alive by promoting and encouraging the creative instinct it believes every individual possesses, while at the same time exposing the community to quality entertainment.
Premier’s outstanding professional production of its annual “Scrooge: The Musical” at the Paramount Theater on the boardwalk in Asbury Park instills wellsprings of love and joy to complement the hopefulness of the holiday season. If you missed the Dec. 6 and 7 “Scrooge” productions, you still have a chance to buy tickets for the Saturday, Dec. 13 7 p.m. show and Sunday, Dec. 14 1 p.m. show. Come see this amazing, inspirational, timeless, holiday musical. Call 732.774.STAR (7827) or go to PremierTheatre.com.
