iStar Launches Website
Cheripka: the website is a way for us to continue the conversation with the community and hear from them firsthand
iStar, Asbury Park’s waterfront redevelopment company, has announced the launch of a community website that will not only outline details of their investment in the 1.4 square mile community but also provide a forum for public feedback.
The website, asburyparkwaterfront.com, went live Thursday morning, one day after an estimated 250 people turned out to a City Council meeting to view their plans for a members-only beach club to be located at 1500 Ocean Ave on privately owned land, between Sixth and Seventh avenues.
“We are excited to launch our new community website to enable the residents of Asbury Park to engage with us about our shared commitment to the successful redevelopment of the waterfront,” Senior Vice President of Land Development Brian Cheripka said. “From the creation of job training programs to partnerships with local nonprofits, we are extremely proud of the world-class development projects that iStar has brought to the waterfront and the opportunities, jobs, and tax ratables that these projects have created for the entire community. Beyond sharing our investments in the City, the website is a way for us to continue the conversation with the community and hear from them firsthand their views about development on the waterfront. This conversation should include continued dialogue about the long-term preservation options for the Bradley Cove development site. iStar is committed to working with the community to find a solution that works for all of Asbury Park.”
The website not only outlines details of their investment in Asbury Park, including community partnerships but also shares topical news articles.
“Asbury Park is a special place,” the website’s opening statement reads. “Its vibrant culture and contagious spirit is a dynamic part of the Jersey Shore. As the Master Developer of the waterfront, we at iStar appreciate the rich history of this iconic City, and we take our responsibility seriously. Our goal is to keep the spirit of this eclectic community while finding ways to create lasting economic value for those who choose to call Asbury Park home. We actively seek to find the best in class partners for our developments that can add to the vitality of the community for years to come. We aim to deliver on the promises we make and to be a committed community partner with investments that build upon this City’s unmistakable character.”
